A REALTOR® works for you to ensure your home is sold for the best price and in the least amount of time. Common Myths About Purchasing a Home I can only call the REALTOR® who’s name is on the sign. FALSE: You are advised to have your own Buyer’s Agent to assist you with all aspects of the real estate transaction. Your REALTOR® can show you any and all properties that are listed on the MLS®, properties that have exclusive contracts with companies and private sales. I can’t afford to pay a REALTOR® to help me find a home. FALSE: As a Buyer, it usually does not cost anything to use the services of a real estate professional if the property is listed on MLS®. The sale commission plus the taxes are covered by the Seller of the home and built into the sale price. I don’t make enough money to buy a home.
